Little Women: Brilliant Ways - How to Flaunt Life One's Unique Way?

Updated: Jul 21, 2021

Jo's character, a flawed portrayal in the film 'Little Women.' Directed by Greta Girwing, it is in light of a novel by Louisa May Alcott with a similar title. A favourite during my younger years, I enjoyed it.

Writing stories was Jo's passion. She earned money from it with the help of an editor, Mr. Dashwood. Adding to the income of the house gave Jo colossal fulfillment and delight. Jo's character stands out as most women's ambitions spun around beauty and marriage. A rich one to be exact for the rest of the woman's life.

Authors can relate how troublesome it can be to hear one analyzing their work. Indeed, quite an effort goes into writing a piece. Yet, Jo transitions to zeroing in on further developing her writing abilities. Being spirited and lively, she exemplifies having more substance than others. The traits setting her apart justifies why her beloved companion Laurie was in love with her.

He proposes to her at a later stage. Yet, she denies it, saying that she doesn't actually love him. Devastated, Laurie weds Amy, Jo's sister, when they realise that they care about one another. Realising that life without a partner can be a desolate life, Jo laments turning down Laurie. In any case, she is past the point of no return and supports her sister Amy's marriage with Laurie.

Another critical man infatuated with her is Friedrich Bhaer, a professor. Yet, Jo doesn't allow it to continue further. We see that towards the finish of the film, she authors a novel about her life with her sisters. She agrees to revise the ending by permitting her character to wed Friedrich. Indeed, a romantic sentiment is a selling point for books as indicated by Mr. Dashwood. It is inspiring that she represents single, strong, and independent women even today. In Jo's day and age, the only way for women to be independent was to be stage entertainers. She disrupts norms when she procures a job, through her gifts as an author.

Towards the end, Jo chooses to begin a school through her legacy. She shines as a woman who flaunts life her own way.
